A recent poll in Maine shows that two years after a marriage equality law was overturned, voters are very much in favor of marriage equality. The law will be up for a vote again in November, and it could bring good results this time.
Here are the results of the vote, as compiled by the Advocate:
Strongly favor: 43.7%
Somewhat favor: 14.5%
Somewhat oppose: 11.7%
Strongly oppose: 28.2%
Not sure: 2.0%This is far from a definite win, but it’s certainly good news!
I’m going to do what I want to do. I’m going to be who I really am. I’m going to figure out what that is.
There are over 1,800 LGBT students attending Brigham Young University, which is consistently ranked as one of the most unfriendly campuses for LGBT students in the United States. Here’s their moving message for the It Gets Better Project.

“There’s a reason we all listen to punk rock instead of top 40. There’s a reason I’d rather be stage diving than at a bar. I think that most everyone I know involved in punk or hardcore is intrinsically fucked up on some level. There is something wrong with us. Maybe not “wrong,” but certainly different. Because of this, I think we all share a similar outlook and because of that, we share similar experiences. I’m just writing songs about my life, but it turns out, my life is pretty similar to a lot of other people’s lives and honestly, it feels good to know we’re going through this shit together.”
